Marios Froudarakis obtained his Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Sainte-Etienne in France and his PhD from the University of Crete, in addition to a diploma in clinical oncology from the XI University of Paris and the Institute Gustave Roussy before returning to Greece where he is currently an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Pulmonary Department of the University Hospital of Alexandroupolis. He is a member of numerous international societies including the European respiratory Society, the American Thoracic Society, the American College of Chest Physicians, The European Association of Bronchology, and the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer.
He has published widely in various areas of interventional pulmonology and lung cancer, and has also focused his clinical work on diagnostic and therapeutic pleural procedures, including thoracoscopy and pleuroscopy. He has been invited to lecture at numerous national and international meetings, and has been the director of numerous yearly Thoracoscopy training seminars of the European Respiratory Society. Dr. Froudarakis is the author or coauthor of more than 40 research and review papers, and has a keen interest in education. He uses his multicultural educational background to relate to individuals with various and diverse training needs with great success.
