Dr. Korraa was born in Kuwait in 1963 to Egyptian parents. He had to choose between living in Kuwait to study engineering and returning back to Cairo to study medicine. Obviously, he preferred the latter. Dr. Koraa graduated from the Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt in 1986, with honors. After completing his Masters degree in 1991, he prepared his doctoral thesis at the Hopital Henri Mondor, Universite Paris XII in Paris where he spent approximately 2 years.

After returning to Cairo, he continued his career at the Ain Shams University as Assistant lecturer, lecturer and eventually, as Assistant Professor in the department of Chest Medicine. In addition to his experience in pulmonary diseases, Dr. Korraa has experience in cancer therapy and research. Bronchology, however, remains a principle interest, and he has helped establish many Bronchoscopy suites around Cairo, as well as assisted with workshops and conferences throughout Egypt.

Dr Korraa is a member in the Egyptian Thoracic Society, the Respiratory Care Club and the Egyptian Scientific Society of Bronchology. He is also a member in the American Chest colleagues. Dr.Korraa is fluent in Arabic, and has excellent command of both French and English.
