Dr Lund is Assistant Professor in the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at Drexel University College of Medicine. He received his medical degree cum laude from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He did his internship and residency in Internal Medicine followed by fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania on the clinical investigator pathway. Dr Lund completed an Interventional Pulmonology fellowship also at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
After completing his fellowship training Dr Lund started the first dedicated complex airways disease center in Maine. He was subsequently recruited as the Director of Interventional Pulmonology for Drexel University College of Medicine and their affiliated hospital, Eastern Regional Medical Center of the Cancer Treatment Centers of America. The program offers complete consultative and procedural services to patients with thoracic oncologic problems, benign and malignant central airways disease, and pleural disease.
Dr Lund is a recognized authority in interventional pulmonology. His expertise includes rigid bronchoscopy, flexible bronchoscopy, laser resection, stent insertion, endobronchial ultrasound, brachytherapy, photodynamic therapy and pleural Procedures. Dr Lund currently serves as vice-chair of the American College of Chest Physicians Interventional Chest / Diagnostic Procedures network steering committee. His academic pursuits include curriculum design and competency metrics for bronchoscopy and interventional pulmonology. He is a founding member of the Mid-Atlantic Regional Interventional Pulmonology Consortium, a multi-state association to promote collaborative research focused on interventional pulmonology.
Dr Lund is a fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians. He is a member of numerous professional organizations including: the American Thoracic Society, American Association of Bronchoscopy and Interventional Pulmonology, World Association of Bronchoscopy, the European Association of Bronchoscopy and Interventional Pulmonology, Sigma Xi Scientific Research Society, and the International Association for Study of Lung Cancer. Dr Lund is a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Bronchoscopy and a reviewer of interventional pulmonary manuscripts for several international journals. He has been awarded many honors including: Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, Hobart Amory Hare Honor Medical Society at Jefferson Medical College, William Osler Society of Fellows in Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, and The National Society of The Sons of The American Revolution Medal.
