Udaya B. S. Prakash, MD., is the Scripps Professor of Medicine, Mayo Clinic College of Medicine; and Consultant in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota. For nearly two decades, he was the director of bronchoscopy at the Mayo Clinic. During the course of his distinguished career, Dr. Prakash has helped dozens of countries develop educational programs in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. Currently, he is the Chair of the Board of Regents, World Association for Bronchology. Dr. Prakash was the President of the American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP), 2002-03, and the first President of the American Association for Bronchology. He was the editor-in-chief of the Mayo Clinic Proceedings and the Journal of Bronchology. He has authored dozens of articles on bronchoscopy and related subjects and is the editor of the textbook, 'Bronchoscopy'.
