Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Dr. Vujacich graduated with honours from the Buenos Aires Public University School of Medicine while serving as a pre-graduate teaching assistant in Anatomy. After her Fellowship in Internal Medicine and then in Pulmonary Medicine at the University Hospital, she joined the State Government Rehabilitación Respiratoria Maria Ferrer specializing in Pulmonary Medicine as Junior Staff Physician. During her first years of pulmonary clinical practice she developed wide experience in Intensive Care Medicine and served as chief of the Intensive Care Unit for several years.
In 1989, Dr. Vujacich began practicing diagnostic bronchoscopy under the guidance of Dr. Hector Defranchi at the University Hospital. His professional and humanistic qualities inspired her, prompting her interest in bronchoscopy procedures and education. In 1993, she was named Chief of the Bronchoscopy Unit at the Clinicas University Hospital, a position she still holds today and through which she excels in teaching new generations of pulmonary trainees.
Dr. Vujacich is a member of the Argentinean Association for Bronchology (served as President in 2001), the South American Association for Bronchology, and the American Association for Bronchology. She has recently been asked to join the board of regents of the World Bronchology Association. An advocate of free access and dissemination of knowledge, she participates widely in pulmonary medicine courses and conferences and she lectures frequently throughout Latin American Countries and in Argentina.
