Momen M. Wahidi, MD

Dr. Wahidi is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy and Critical Care Medicine at Duke University Medical Center. He received his MD degree from Damascus University and did his internship and residency in internal medicine at Indiana University; where he also served as a chief medical resident. He completed a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Duke University Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in interventional pulmonology at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Wahidi is the director of the Interventional Pulmonology program at Duke University Medical Center. This program offers consultative and procedural services to patients with lung cancer, benign airway disorders, and pleural diseases including advanced flexible and rigid bronchoscopies, pleuroscopy, indwelling pleural catheters, and percutaneous tracheostomy.

Dr. Wahidi is currently involved in research on the education of bronchoscopy and on the use of medical devices in the treatment of emphysema and asthma. He serves on the steering committee of the interventional/chest diagnostic network of the American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP) and on the board of directors of the American Association of Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology. He is also the current ACCP governor for North Carolina.
